Who are we?

Startup Business Campus is Africa’s leading superhub designed for entrepreneurs, enablers and investors. We are a one-stop-shop that offers entrepreneurs education, incubation, advisory services and investment opportunities. Startup Business Campus equips entrepreneurs with skills, tools, resources and infrastructure to develop iconic African businesses. We are a cluster of entrepreneurship support programmes, hubs, incubators, accelerators, and co-working spaces working in developing markets.

Startup Business Campus works with entrepreneurial ecosystem leaders, feeders and cheerleaders to make African entrepreneurs thrive. We develop, facilitate, guide, mentor, fund and upscale iconic startups across fundamental sectors. We are situated at The Mills on 66 Carr Street, in Newtown Precinct, Johannesburg’s original entrepreneurial playground. This iconic commercial and industrial complex was established in 1904. It was home to the old Premier Milling Company, located on the corner of Carr and Quinn Street in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Today our community consists of entrepreneurs and investors, community leaders, cultural creatives, geeks, activists as well as thought and practice leaders who are all seeking to align what they care about with their actions to make the world a better place.

Why should you care?

"Over 70% of products, services and technologies that

will be present in 2050 have yet to be invented. "

Humanity stands at an important moment in history. The global, digitally-enabled industry 4.0 is already the fastest period of innovation ever. It is underpinned by rapid advances in technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, the internet of things, nanotechnology and biotechnology, to name a few. The disruption of many traditional markets and industries is already underway. All sectors of society are in transition to a digital revolution that has the potential to transform entire industries.

Humanity now recognises that it lives on a shared planetary home with a shared future and it is interconnected by ever–increasing levels of interdependence. It is journeying towards a single integrated interdependent global society driven by forces of globalisation, tribalisation and technological interconnectivity. This society will be fully developed by the 2050, which is emerging both as a year of aspirational focus for, and a year of judgement of, collective human endeavour.

This emerging interdependent sustainable society is based on 21st century paradigm called Sustainability—that is shaping global markets, future jobs and global ethics, and how humanity is reinventing itself in stages to enable itself to thrive in this society.  It is therefore critical for every company or organisation to understand how this new reality will impact future operations and opportunities. Over 70% of products, services and technologies that will be present in 2050 have yet to be invented.

Startup Business Campus equips you with critical skills and provides you with practical toolkits that show you how to analyze big picture processes and trends of current global change so that you can build these innovations and prosper by doing so.
